Black Rat Print Show - 16.02.2008
View more info about this event View more info about this event

There comes a time in every collectors life where he wonders whether that giclee they bought really could have been done as a screenprint. And whether a 2 plate etching with screenprinted elements really is the king of all print techniques. What about that 120 colour screenprint you are sure that someone mentioned once. Is it really wise to go with the 410gsm paper as opposed to a 300gsm with 2 varnishes? Finally whether its necessary to use A La poupee when inking a zinc plate with a scrim or whether by using a combination of spit bite and sugar-lift on a soft ground you could avoid it. We have all asked ourselves these questions and in our next show we intend to answer them (or at least the printers will give it a good go).

Saturday 16th February will see the opening of our first exhibition dedicated to the art of printmaking. This event will include live printing demonstrations, an opportunity to ask the legendary black rat printers (well reasonable well known in a small village in the midlands) any geeky printmaking questions you may have, new editions by lots of artists including, Dface, Swoon, Slinkachu, Nick Walker, Blek Le Rat and possibly if we can find him, Matt Small. Plus prints by new artists plus (yes there is more) unique trial proofs made over the past year by all of the artists above and more including Dface collages, Blek monoprints, Prints on Steel, Prints on Card etc etc

More details will be posted closer to the time - to recieve an invite to the show please make sure you are signed up to our newsletter mailing list.

Best wishes BRP
